Wentworth Castle Wedding | Liz & Louis

Ceremony & Reception: Wentworth Castle, Barnsley, South Yorkshire

Once again, I was with the boys in the morning, while Gav was with the girls.

It looked like this was going to be "one of those days". After weeks of glorious sunshine, the forecast was atrocious. Normally, this might have been irritating but not really a problem. We like a challenge and a rainy day is fun to deal with (if you know how to handle it, if you don't mind getting a bit wet and if you have a couple who are up for anything).

Today, was a bit different, though. There was no doubt that Liz & Louis were keen to do whatever it took to get some great shots but they had chosen Wentworth Castle so that we could make full use the fabulous gardens. At the very top of the gardens, so far from the main house you need to use a golf buggy to get there, there is a huge folly, which is a unique, dramatic (dare I say "magical"?) place to have your wedding photos taken - just not in a howling gale & torrential rain. It would have been awful if we hadn't been able to use any of it because of the weather but, true to form, it miraculously cleared up just when we needed it to and off we trundled.

It was great fun racing Liz & Louis in the golf buggies (we didn't tell them we'd nabbed the fastest one) and we got to explore all of the gardens, taking some gorgeous shots of the two of them along the way.

Fun couple, fabulous venue and food (courtesy of Complete Catering Service) - A brilliant day all round.

By the way, Louis insists that he looks nothing like either Tom Cruise or David Tennant. You decide....

You may also notice that Liz's name is now Elizabeth Duke. Three guesses where they DIDN'T get the wedding rings from!
