Reception: Marquee, Clayton, Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Second-shooting with Gav Harrison
Phew! What a scorcher! Just as well, really, because the reception was in a huge marquee in Amy's Dad's farmyard. With Amy and John both being farmers, I don't suppose a bit of mud would have dampened their spirits at all.
There was a distinctly agricultural feel to the whole day (which was a real treat for me, having been brought up on a farm) and the church was decorated with wheat and barley arrangements in milk churns with a huge corn arch over the door. Both Amy and John arrived at the church on enormous highly polished Massey Ferguson tractors - I wonder how long it took to clean them up! - Amy's Dad restores vintage tractors and has quite a collection (his gleaming MF135 brought back a few memories for me, I can tell you).
We photographed Amy's sister Emma's wedding to Paul last year at Waterton Park, so there were a few familiar faces to photograph, which always fun.
It goes without saying that Gav & I had a fantastic day's shooting. Congratulations and thank-you to Amy and John for being such great sports.
